Peggy Hagler

Peggy Marie Hagler, was born and raised in southeast Alabama, US. While art was a continuous hobby through childhood, after high school she pursued Nursing. After a 40 year career she retired from the Alabama Department of Public Health as a Registered Nurse Supervisor. She has two adult children, a son and a daughter, and a very large extended family.

During the last two years of work, knowing retirement was on the horizon, art again piqued her interest and she discovered the on-line Realistic Acrylic Portrait group and began a life changing journey to finally pursue her passion for art. “I was amazed that I was able to learn techniques to create an accurate portrait drawing and through an amazing teacher, Mat Philleo, learn how to paint a beautiful portrait.” She is now constantly busy painting commissioned portraits. She gives special thanks to Matt Philleo, the All-Access Student Group and the special man in her life who is her biggest supporter.
