Diana Hancock

I started drawing as a child and loved drawing people in particular. I used to draw huge posters too, one in particular being the Martini label and the King of spades playing card. I got married for the first time when I was just 20 and never drew again, life just got in the way. 5 years later I started a family and went on to have 4 lovely children, now aged 37, 33, 24 and 23. My 24 year old daughter went to University of Arts in London and that’s when I thought I wished I had done that. During lockdown I had lots of spare time and that’s where I started watercolour painting and drawing again. Then I found Matt Philleo and his fabulous technique with acrylic paints, I had to give it a go and was astounded that I too could do that. I am forever grateful for having learnt this technique and look forward to creating many more portraits.
