Anita Bare

ANITA BARE was born in 1977. She lives in the south of Croatia, in her hometown of Solin, Dalmatia. Art has always been an essential part of her life. She is engaged in writing and painting. She has the experience of writing columns, and has published a collection of poetry called "Man of Paper" in which in a very authentic, somewhat fierce and rebellious way, she gave birth to her experiences of various life topics, which everyone can recognize.

Her inner urge for artistic expression, in addition to the written word, also springs strongly in artistic creation. Anita's almost childish curiosity does not allow her to remain static, so she likes to explore various techniques and topics.

Fascination with engraving and butterflies, led to an exhibition of paintings of the motif "Butterflies" engraved on stone, in Zadar. She fills the present time by painting with acrylic on canvas or plywood, such as a landscape, which is inspired by the beauty that surrounds her, even though the actual painting is drawn from her imagination.

On the canvas, the untouched and pure nature of this self-taught artist seems to be an extension of the author's somewhat introverted interior. It takes the viewer on long walks through thick layers of paint with painting spatulas, and interesting effects with brushes: all the way to the sky where there is always at least a hint of drama in colors or clouds. In fact, it is as if we are walking through that pure and untouched part of our soul, over which dramatic situations out of our control occasionally hover.

The artist seems to continue to "write poetry" in visual language, so her abstract-expressive images, which are also dramatic and theatrical, provoke emotional reactions in the viewer.

From a young age, her fascination has been with human phenomena, and is currently learning to master portraits. She loves working with a limited palette of colors, and the game of mixing and the excitement of achieving various shades of just five selected colors.

When asked what art means to her, she says: “Art is a special spice that is added to the time we live through. It spoils life, if it is not there."
